can you tell me how else would i be able to find a julia cain in douglas between thses dates, john joseph cain, married from cronkbourne village in 1919, in 1901 census they all lived in bridge st douglas, father john thomas died 1902 [ although he not reg in death] julia died 1929 house of industry, i am told the museum do not have electoral from 1920 to 1949[ either lost or burned ] im sure it was no 8 cronkbourne village,i forgot now if i looked at the book befor 1920,
the house of industry i dont think kept a record of where julia would have lived befor would they, i know the poorhouse had a minutes record but did not record on dailey basis, and did not keep record of discharge, as publics record has given me 4 pieces of paper with dads mother name and age and when she entered and when she had baby and then another to say baby was delivered, they have clipped paper at top and bottom so we cant see any other writting when they have copied it for me, but that could be other names. im a bit saddened that there was no discharge record , but its 1920 im talking about
