I guess my first response is does it matter where they met ? - such questions are generally only answerable if private letters survive - however Andreas was not a holiday resort in the 1850's so so either he had business up in the far North of the Island or Mary Ann went off to Liverpool (as did so many other Manx) in search of work or possibly Mary was working in Douglas or Ramsey which did attract holidaymakers - it would appear that most of the rest of the family remained in Andreas in 1851.
