I may as well mention my half sister, Ellie Isabella Sayle. She was born in 1904 in Broughton, Salford. Ellie's mother died in 1905 and I think Ellie may have been given to the care of her uncle and aunt, William and Agnes Sayle, who also lived in Broughton. My father emigrated to Canada in 1911 alone.

Our verbal family history says my father and Ellie were reunited in the late 1920s or early 1930s in Edmonton Canada about the time my father married my mother in his second marriage. Unfortunately my sister and her stepmother, my mother, did *not* get along so that was the end of our knowledge of her.

Ellie married but it seems not in the UK. So she may have married in Alberta or BC, and she may have moved to Vancouver. I'm waiting for the moment when records are released showing her leaving the UK or arriving in Canada to establish a date range.

Like me Ellie was born "half Manx" but raised away from the Isle of Man. I mention her here just in case any of her descendants start searching for her roots.
