However that will ref. (previous message to Philip) had CORKILL, Hester 1821 Mau KNEALE E 2 0106422.
It would be helpful to look at this will.
There are three William Corkills buried in Maughold in 1836, two with place names. Whoever made your tree was probably looking at Wm CORKILL aged 72, B'Jorrey, Oct 8 1836.
Because of the numbers of Corkills in Maughold at that time a M.I. or a will is usually crucial to be sure you have identified the correct family.
It looks correct because "William Corkill of Ballajora in this parish" died April 7th 1871 aged 78 years (Maughold M.I.), who looks like the son of William Corkill & Esther Kneale. I saw a photo of this gravestone after my reply to Philip in 2005.
There are Articles of Marriage between Robert Corkill of Ballnejora, Maughold on behalf of his son & heir William CORKILL & William Callow and Margrett his wife on behalf of their daughter Margaret CALLOW, in which William Corkill agrees to settle the tenement of Ballnejora [Ballajora] plus money and goods on the couple in return for them taking care of him, and William Callow and wife promise a dowry of Five Pounds…15 June 1748. Attached to this document, dated 22 Nov.1756, is a note accepting this agreement as the last will and testament of Robert Corkill. He was buried Maughold Feb.12 1756.
