Here is some information on this family in Ohio.

There is quite a bit available at the Cleveland Public Library Necrology site. The obituaries give many relationships.

Hugh Quilliam family of East Cleveland

Hugh Quilliam, son of John and Esther (Corris) Quilliam, was baptized at Kk Patrick, February 17, 1805, and died in East Cleveland, August 26, 1888. He married, at Ballaugh, November 20, 1830, Elizabeth Kelly. She died December 27, 1886, age 76, at the home of her daughter Mrs. R. C. Corlett.

Hugh and Elizabeth Quilliam immigrated on the Isaac Hicks, which arrived in New York from Liverpool, June 3, 1831. [Isaac Hicks, June 3, 1831, Manifest # 103: Evan Quilliam 26 weaver IOM New York; Elizabeth 21 IOM New York.] They lived for a while in New York, but then settled in East Cleveland.

Children of Elizabeth Kelly and Hugh Quilliam:

i. John H. Quilliam was born in New York, about 1832, and died in 1920. He married, July 1, 1855, Lena A. Ruple. Lena L. Quilliams died October 13, 1884. Buried at East Cleveland Cemetery. John and Lena Quilliam lived in Fulton, Pike County. [1880 Fulton census # 92 (all but John born Ohio): John Quilliams 38 farmer New York; Lena 34; Henry F. 14 farm labor; Mary 12; John 10.]

ii. Esther Jane Quilliam was born about 1834, and died in 1897. She married, in Cuyahoga County, June 22, 1851, Pleman Heston. They lived in East Cleveland, and Olmsted.

iii. Christiana Quilliam was born about 1836, baptized at St. James Episcopal Church in Painesville, May 8, 1837, and died in North Dover, April 17, 1912. She married, in Cuyahoga County, January 21, 1854, Thomas Corkill.

iv. William Thomas Quilliam was born August 13, 1838, baptized at St. James Episcopal Church, August 4, 1839, and died July 19,1917. He married Nancy Jane Moore. William and Nancy Quilliam lived in East Cleveland.

v. Mary Ann Quilliam was born May 30, 1840, baptized at St. James Episcopal Church, June 27, 1841, and died October 24, 1912. She married, in Cuyahoga County, August 12, 1867, Robert C. Corlett. They lived in Cleveland. Child: Bessie M.

vi. Eliza Elizabeth Quilliam was born November 29, 1845, and baptized at St. James Episcopal Church, May 3, 1846. She married, in Cuyahoga County, in 1886, John Collister.

vii. Sophronia Quilliam was born about 1849, and died in 1938. She married, in Cuyahoga County, November 18, 1873, Volney R. Warner. They lived in New Lyme, Ohio.

viii. Charles Pritchard Quilliam was born July 26, 1851, and died December 24, 1891. He married first, in Cuyahoga County, Laura Rush. Laura died May 16, 1860. He married second, in Ashtabula County, Sylvia A. Durham. Charles Quilliam lived in New Lyme.

Next generation

Christiana Quilliam (Hugh - Elizabeth Kelly) was born August 27, 1836, and died in North Dover, April 17, 1912. She married, in Cuyahoga County, January 21, 1854, Thomas Corkill. He was born December 31, 1825, and died October 13, 1881. Thomas and Christiana Corkill are buried in East Cleveland Cemetery.

ii. Francis H. “Frank” Corkill was born in 1857, and died in 1915. He married Emma Finney.

iii. Willie Corkill was born September 12, 1860, and died May 1, 1861.

iv. Mary Elizabeth “Lizzie” Corkill was born July 5, 1862, and died in July 10, 1918. She married, Samuel J. Andrews. He was born in July 1859.

v. Ellen E. “Nellie” Corkill was born in April 1865, and died in 1960. Nellie married first, in Cuyahoga County, John Mitchell.

John and Nellie Mitchell lived in Dover.

Nellie married second, George Yesberger.
