Re: help please to decipher Michael Census 1841

My take on it is as follows, although I hope someone else will look too to give a 3rd opinion!

Ballafageen - Could also be fagan, but B.fageen turns up again on page 4, the other side of Bishop's Domain, although I must say the 'f' looks less like an 'f' there.

It does say Yeoman, which my dictionary defines as a small farmer, freeholder, a station above labourer.

Edw. Craine - not s, just a flick of the pen, as with the other entries.

I would say that the word under profession for Thomas Tear was 'Army', if you compare the A with 'Ann' further down, and 'Ag lab'. There's another such entry on page 3 for a Scotsman called Anderson.

Hope that helps, although, as I said, I hope someone elses will give their reading too, to see if we all agree, as it is very tricky to decipher.
