Your Esther OATES is recorded in my COSNAHAN / KNEEN tree as Hester OATES all dates and details you provided show her to be my 6th cousin once removed. I do have all their childrens details , but sadly no marriages. But seeing Len's and Bruces replies I now have more additions to make. Have you checked the 1851 and 1861 thru, 1871 census's to find more clues...especially ages at the time of census event. Then search the IGI and parish entries to confirm up to 1878 for births and deaths and 1884 for marriages at the General Registry in Douglas.
