Greetings from Denmark!
I´m trying to solve a genealogical problem and would very much appreciate if someone - if possible - could help me out.
Case: I´m looking for ancestors/relatives to a ship captain Michael John Quillin(ca. 1740-1802). Presumably he married(?to a Scandinavian) in Edinburgh ca. 1765(?) where he had at least two children - Anike Hedvig Quillin(*1772) and Cathrina Christine Marie Quillin(1773). Later on the two daughters for unknown reasons moved to Copenhagen ca. 1790 and married here. Michael Johan Quillin was about 1790 captain of a ship named "Admiral Chapman". In 1802 he dies broke in Copenhagen. In the Mormon database one can find a cople of persons with the same family name- for example; John Quillin (also Quelling). Married Catherine Casemett (also Casement) on 24 June, 1731 at Saint Mathews, Douglas, Isle Of Man. ,Michael John Quillin, (bap 11 December, 1765 at Saint Mathews, Douglas, Isle Of Man, and finally John Quillin. Married Katherine (also Catharine) Oats (also Oates) on 3 December, 1707 at Braddan, Isle Of Man.
Robert Quillin (bap 21 May, 1718 at Saint Mathews, Douglas, Isle Of Man).
Michael Quillin (bap 21 June, 1720 at Saint Mathews, Douglas, Isle Of Man).
Does anyone see a connection?
With thanks and the hope that someone could help me or give me a clue how to find out more
