Re: MYLCHREEST SOLOMON
In Response To: Re: MYLCHREEST SOLOMON ()

Margaret Mylchreest(1846-9 Aug 1900) married Edward Clague(1842-4 Apr 1914) on 10 Dec 1874 in Arbory. Edward was the son of John and Elizabeth. He was a fisherman, and they lived in Malew Rd Arbory. Children - Margaret Anne chr 25 Mar 1875 (A) and Edward Stanley (22 Oct 1876 (A)). He is just "Stanley" in 1891 Census. There is no sign of Margaret Anne in 1881, she may have died at less than one week old (see Arbory Bur.). There is however Marg A, 8 yrs in 1891.

Margaret Mylchreest is the daughter of Solomon Mylchreest and Elizabeth Kinvig. Margaret was christened 24 Oct 1846 in St Marks. Her parents married on 11 Nov 1843 in Malew.
Margaret's father, Solomon Mylchreest, is NOT the same one who married Jane Keeney in 1822. Solomon (born 1787), who married Jane, is living in Peel Road(Malew) with Jane in 1851. They may well be father and son, though, as the name is uncommon.

Margaret had
sister Elizabeth chr 21 Feb 1844 (Malew) and
brother William chr 15 Jul 1849 (Patrick)

In 1851 they are in Patrick:
Solomon Mylchreest, married, 33, farm labourer (Malew)
Elizabeth, wife, married, 31 (Arbory)
Elizabeth, daughter, unmarried, 7(Arbory)
Margaret, daughter, 3 (Malew)
William, son, 1, (Patrick)

In 1881, Solomon is with his daughter Margaret Clague in Malew Road. He is 66, which ties in with chr 13 Nov 1814, the son of Solomon/Mary Callister. Edward is away fishing, and son Edward S. is 4 years old.

I cannot say who Elizabeth Kinvig's parents were, but only who they are not!
She is NOT daughter of Richard Kinvig and Catherine Cubbon chr 14 Nov 1819 as that Elizabeth is 31,unmarried in 1851 at Ballaquinney with parents.
