1. Have you tried Whitehaven? Part of my family came from Whitehaven in the mid-19th C and, judging by the records, were perfectly happy to nip back and forth between there and the Island! Whitehaven was an important port for coal and fish, and I suspect that most of the Island's coal may have come from Whitehaven.

2. I have some Manx Wades in the tree but they have married into the family and I am not pursuing them yet! Lack of time!
