Need Help with John Crowe b1846

I am trying to find the parents and relatives of this man, one of my step father's ancestors. We have traced the family tree back to him but no luck from there.

John shows on both the 1881 and 1891 census with his wife Mary and their children:

Rebecca b1875
William Edward b1878
John James b1881
Mary Ann b1884
Ellen b1888.

On both census John is shown as having been born in Kirk Michael Isle of Man.

I have done an IGI census and found six John Crowes born within a five year range either side of 1846 (in case his age was a bit out).

I have managed to discount the following:

1. John James Crowe christened 3 Nov 1842 Ramsey (he married Hannah and is elsewhere on the 1881 census)

2. John Thomas Crow christened 18 Jan 1844 Ballaugh (he married Ann Cowell and is elsewhere on the 1881 census)

3. John Crow christened 11 Jul 1844 Andreas (he married Elizabeth Kelly and is elsewhere on the 1881 census)

4. John Joseph Crow christened 7 Jul 1850 Lonan (he married Nancy Carmichael and moved to the USA)

That leaves two possibilities

1. John Crowe christened 15 Feb 1842 Lezayre appears to be illegitimate. Son of Catherine Crowe and Robert Martin.

2. John Charles Crowe christened 24 Dec 1842 Lezayre son of John Crowe and Margaret Halsall.

If anyone knows any information about the outcomes of these last two the info would be appreciated.

I know John moved to Liverpool sometime before 1881, and have possibly found him in Liverpool in 1871 as a servant to the Rennett family (also from Isle of Man) - but I am not 100% certain this is the same John.

I have tried to find the marriage certificate of John and Mary but the indexes for the timeframe when they married must be incomplete as there is no marriage between a John Crowe and a Mary. I did find a Mary Judge who married on the same sheet as a John Crowe but further investigated proved she married one of the other males listed. Mary was born in Liverpool as were all John and Mary's children so I suspect they also married in Liverpool. John worked as a shoemaker according to the census.

I am pretty certain John must have died sometime between 1891 and 1901 as Mary is listed living with her oldest son and his family on the 1901 census and there is no corresponding record for John in 1901.

I am interested in corresponding with anyone who can tell me anything about John and his ancestors or anyone who is descendent from his children. My family link is through the son William.
