If we take a closer look at Richard, his godparents were Peter & Ann Murphy. I wonder if they were his maternal grandparents as Peter & Ann Murphy (Farrell) had a daughter Elizabeth, born circa 1841, so the dates would fit. I'm going to post some more info. to Annette Murphy about this family. The Murphy's did spend some time in Manchester ( Peter & Ann's son Richard was married there)
Hannah Goodwin of 4 Market St. ( adopted daughter of Thomas & Elizabeth A. Murphy) was the daughter of Edward Goodwin. She married Thomas Andrew Agnew 01 Sep 1888 at St Mary's
witnesses William & Mary Ann McNeely - (I think Mary Ann was a sister of Thomas A., she married William McNeilly 10 May 1883)
Children of Hannah & Thomas A. Agnew were:
Margaret 1888, Agnes 1890, Thomas 1891, William john 1893 & Hannah May 1894, I have not had time to check them out yet.
There was another family of Agnews in Cattle Market St - Peter Agnew & Mary Ann (McMullen)
I have info about this family. I wonder if Peter born c. 1837 and Thomas born c. 1836 were brothers ? I will reply to Steve Mudd about Peter ( Patrick) Agnew's family.
