Hi Marie,
Thanks for that information. One thing that concerns me is that in the 1881 census Elizabeth's age is 31, if she was born in 1845 she would have been 37! I have a copy of her death certificate stating she was aged 40 in 1890, meaning she was born in 1850. I know ages are often out in census etc but it seems strange to have an exacting figure of 31.
Also another fact I find interesting is that on their marriage certificate(Parish records) it has him down as bachelor(Though others are saying he had been married before) and her as a spinster. Yet in the 1881 census it listed their children and also two others William H Taylor 12, stepson and Margaret J Taylor 12 stepdaughter.Who did she have these to?
William and Elizabeth Watson had two more children together, Edith Rebecca, 1881 and Alfred 1883.
Later on also William Cowell and Eliza Skelly not only had Elizabeth July 1892, and Stephen 1900, but also Thomas 1894, Esther Margaret 1897.
He had a total of 9 children altogether, plus two step children.
