Re: Amelia Woolcock
In Response To: Amelia Woolcock ()

Have just seen your request. Amelia Woolcock, born 1836 and christened 20 October 1836 in Marown, Isle of Man,was my grandmother's mother. She had five children: Mary Louisa christened 26 December 1869 in Patrick, Isle of Man; James christened 20 October 1867; Maud (my grandmother) born 12 August 1871 and christened 3 January 1872 in Patrick, IoM (I think her dates may be out as another record I have says born 1873!); Thomas date of birth not yet found; Agnes date of birth not yet found but I have a record she married in South Africa. I have just come across some old notebooks, and may find more dates - if so I'll let you know. I haven't gone further back than Amelia yet but did find that her sister Elizabeth, born 1839 and christened 7 April 1839 in Marown, Isle of Man, married William Quayle on 3 April 1862 at Kirk Braddon, Isle of Man, and she may have married a second time.

I know Amelia was referred to by my aunts (Maud's daughters) as "Grandma Hastie" and I believe I have some photographs. If you are interested I will be happy to send you copies, and details of anything else I find in the family notebooks and so on.

Are you a relative of Amelia? I am very keen to trace any relatives I may have, and any other information about my ancestors. I have only just started researching, so would be grateful for any information.
