John Callister, A Vancouver Pionerr.

I have come across a Callister in my researches here in Vancouver B.C and will be happy to pass on what information I have.
John Callister was born in Ballaugh in 1842 -died in Vancouver 1934. He was one of the City Pioneers. He emigrated to the States and was a builder in Chicago and San Franscisco. He arrived in Vancouver in 1885 at the beginning of the city's history. He was a master builder, built many fine buildings and today there is a Callister Park named after him in the city. The neighbourhood park was donated by his two nieces also from Ballaugh, Ada M.Stevenson, née Corlett b.1876 and Emily Corlett, b. 1864. I am intrigued as to when and how these two arrived in Vancouver. My connection to him is that he is my aunt's great uncle! John Quirk
