Re: Researching Boyde, Kelly, Gelling and Gillibra

My great grandfather was James Boyd (they also used Boyde), a farmer in the Manx settlement of Newburgh near Cleveland Ohio. His wife was Ellen Quiggen.
His father was a preacher named John, who remained on the island. Ballaugh looks familiar to me. When I was a boy, there was a Boyd reunion every summer at Elyria, near Cleveland. James died in about 1900. Ellen was his second wife, the earlier wife drowned in a well in the farmhouse. Most of the reunion was descended from the first wife, who was Manx but whose name I don't recall, although I'm sure I can find it somewhere.
