Descendants of Lawrence Kelly
Generation No. 1
1. LAWRENCE1 KELLY was born 1727 in Isle of Man.
Notes for LAWRENCE KELLY:
It is thought he first came to America as a young stowaway who settled first in Virginia. Later on, he learned of an inheritance and returned to the Isle of Man
where he converted his share into cargoes of linen.
On the return trip to America, his ships were forced off course by storms.
They were overtaken by pirates and Lawrence was taken captive and ended up
in Barbados. He finally escaped on a passing boat and returned to
Virginia. -File from Joyce Taylor Collins
