The MI's from Patrick refer to parish church at Knockaloe (about 2 miles from Peel; (Patrick/German links for Peel are very common as until 1714 St Peter's in Peel (Kk German) handled both Patrick and German parishes.
Peel had a boom time up to 1765 from the running trade - then quiet until the improvements to the harbour c. 1815 saw a movement of Patrick fishermen to Peel and the growth of fishing (+ ancilliary trades such as net making + shipbuilding) - herring fishery very big until late 19th c. Patrick was mostly agricultural until mining (Foxdale area) grew from c. 1830 onwards (collapsed end of 19th c)
