Goodwin in his genealogical notes said .....Thomas, the last Abbot, who, as a quid pro quo for the loss of his power and prestige, accepted the lease of two estates in the Treen of Gordon (Knockaloe Mooar and Gordon),and is entered for them in the Liber Assed. of 1539.
I know he was not the last Abbot as in 1540 it appears to have been Henry Jackson.
Can anyone with access to the records confirm Goodwins statement on who had the land in 1539?
A more difficult question... was this the Abbot or Thomas Radcliff Lord's Receiver at Peel Castle in 1535 and 1543 ( or perhaps they are the same person)
