I stumbled across this web site whilst researching some military history.
I note that in this post you refer to Gate as being part of the line.
I have traced some of my line back and my Gt grandmother was Margaret Esther Killey and either her parents or grandparents were Richard Killey and Esther Gate ( I'm at work and haven't got my papers to hand) I believe that her father died of violent suffaction due to drowning when she was quite young.
