Just my opinion but beware of FTM. They keep wanting you to upgrade to the newest version ...at a price.
Files made with newer versions are not backwards compatible. I have been sent files made with newer versions but I can't read them because I only have an old version and I refuse to fork out any more. It can read the gedcoms but loses a lot of the extras which come with the FTM format. The person who sends them also has to go to the trouble of exporting the gedcoms.
I'm sticking with PAF, simple and straightforward.....just like me:).
