Is there anyone who could point me in the right direction.? I have found a relativewho classed himself "widower"when he married in 1919 but I know his 1st wife left him for someone else in 1905/06. Would there have been any official enquiry ie notices in local papers or court /police involvement? How would he be able to prove he was a widower if there was no death cert?Are there any records I can check? I'd be grateful for any suggestions!
