A recently issued book on Andreas written by Sally McCambridge and based mainly on the research of Donald Dugdale shows this Teare family in depth.

It mentions Gilbert Teare 1736-1815 who married Mary Radcliffe in 1762 and had 13 Children. The eldest Thomas 1768 took over the farm at Ballabane whilst the fifth son Charles, the herb doctor, known as ' The Ballawhane' married Ann Fargher and lived in a cottage on Ballawhane.
