Myself and other people have for the past week been trying to help Bashfulrogers find about her fathers identity, if you want to know the full details I would refer you to the BBC Family History Message Board and a thread headed 'Do you know where my dad was born?' there are more than 300 messages on that thread. Very briefly her father has never had a birth certificate, he spent his childhood in a children's home in England and has no idea who his family were. After much coaxing his has now said he thinks he may have been born on the Isle of Man. We can't search the records online like England and she is going to contact I O M registrations on Monday but is desperate for any scrap of information from anyone.
