I've been able to trace my paternal ancestors back to the mid-1700s in the United States. But research by various members of my family always peter out then. I was looking at some maps of the Isle of Man and I became curious about the Barnell road. Does anyone know the origin of the name of this road? Is Barnell a common surname? Thanks.
