John was I think bapt as Benjamin s/o Hugh Alexander & Mary Clague (DStGeorge 18021003) married Christian Alexander (a cousin ? ) which is why the Igi entry shows a '-' in 1841 living with father Hugh (and son then named John !) at Dou.4.4.14 (sorry index only) Hugh bur Bra 13 Apr 1852 age 83 which makes him s/o James Alexander + Elizabeth Bridson (DStMat 17700214) m. at Maughold 12 JUL 1767
