Richard Dannate was a witness to the 1613 will of my ancestor, John Sherlock of Oxton, Wirral, Cheshire. Dannate is an unusual name for that area, and on the Cheshire Parish Register Database, the following burials:
Woodchurch
30 Jan. 1603
Henrye Dannatt, Manxeman
2 Oct. 1609
Wm. Dannett, A Manx Boy
Neston
8 April 1610
Dannatte (no first name, but male)
A Mankes Man
I'm now wondering if Richard Dannate was also from Isle of Man. Anyone recognise him?
Best regards,
Yvonne Purdy (nee Sherlock)
