Killey tragedy at sea

A tale of intrigue handed down within the family tells of a family of Killey brothers in the Isle of Man. The older ones apparantly drown in fishing tragedy and the younger males went to Liverpool, Lancaster and possibly Scotland.

Have only been able to go back to Richard Killey who married Jane Griffith, Liverpool, 1802. Richard had 4 known sons, John, Richard, Henry and William.

My late Uncle, born 1902, Liverpool had mentioned a connection with Castleton, however this has not been proven.

Other known names connected with the family are Gate, Fairclough, Bedford and Mulcare.
