Adoption records are held at General Registry, Deemsters Walk, Bucks Road, Douglas, IM1 3AR. Only the index, however, is available for general consultation and the earliest adoptions dealt with by the Civil Courts were after 1928.

If an individual wishes to consult a specific record it is necessary to apply through the following:

Adoption Service, 3 Albany Lane, Douglas, IM2 3NS,
