I am trying to trace my husband's family tree.
His grandfather, Louis Pears Kerruish, was born in Whitehaven in 1884. Louis' father was Daniel Kerruish (the 'i' has got lost somewhere along the way) who was born in the Isle of Man and married Katherine Pears in Whitehaven in 1882. On the marriage certificate, his father was described as a master mariner (deceased). I believe that Daniel's mother may also have been called Catherine.
Daniel set up a boot and shoe making business in Whitehaven and is recorded on the 1891 census. Katherine is recorded on the 1901 census as a widow. I have no trace of them after that.
Daniel may have had a brother called Thomas.
