Thanks again Sue - yes the details on the 1881 census are the correct family, Unfortunately the 1901 iom census only gave the place of birth of John (Wm) Crow/e as England. If he is the correct one - father John (surname is Allen) John Wm Crow/e he is my geat uncle. Mary Ann Crow/e - mother of John Wm - is my great grandmother. Any ideas how I can progress on this?
Also in 1901 census the sister of John Wm Crow/e was working at the Saddle Hotel in Ramsey - recorded as Margaret Allen age 18 born England. (from family knowledge this is correct)
