I think the Isabella and James that visited USA are part of the children to Claudius and can be found in Birkenhead in 1881 under the name Quale.
It looks like Christian- the sister of Claudius -married an Edward Quayle. The 1880 USA census may indicate that this was a return visit by Edward for a second wife.
