William QUAYLE mid 1800’s

William Quayle is named as guardian of Andrew LINCHEY (LYNCHEY) when Andrew married Jane IRVING at Ballaugh in 1841.

The marriage record gives no details of Andrew’s parents although he could be the son of my GGG grandmother Sarah LYNCHEY who was transported to New South Wales in 1835 (boys over 8 years could not accompany their mother).

Andrew became a “Marine Dealer” with a business in Hanover St. Douglas and a residence at 2 Drinkwater St. He died in 1879.
