While I was looking I noticed the William Looney will you have transcribed, 1742.

You may have already told me this - sorry if so (lost among the numerous members of this family) but if not, this could help you.

His mother and stepfather were:
William Stoel & Easther Looney alias Tear married Maughold 17 Jan 1730/31.

Esther STOLE als TEARE buried Maughold Aug 12 1772.

Trying to find her earlier marriage and which Looney she married was quite difficult:

__ Lowny & Esther Christian alias Tear married Maughold 15 Aug 1721 [Tom has added "Possibly John Lowny"]

Jon LOONEY buried May 21 1728.

So it looks as though she had three marriages.

Samuell Christian & Esther Teare married Maughold 26 Apr 1714.

Samll XTIAN buried Jan 15 1720.
