This is a very intriguing post for me. My GG Grandmother was Margaret Christian. Her brother's name was Edward. He was christened 1 February 1829 in Kirk Malew, IoM. I have done extensive research on this family and could never figure out what happened to Edward after the 1861 IoM census. There is no burial record and he does not show up in any further census records or any BMD records in England. He just seems to have vanished into thin air. I did a lot of searching for Edward and never came across the marriage you mention to Annie Wicker. (Just searched for A* Wicker in IoM on familysearch.org and drew a blank.)

There were two or three other Edward Christians around at the same time as my GGG Uncle, but they are all accounted for by marriage or emigration. So I'm a bit excited to know that we may be talking about the same person.

So is Edward an ancestor of yours? If so, then you could be the nearest Manx relation that I have.
