John Ready, Lieutenant Governor of the Isle of Man 1832-1845. He had 4 children by his first wife Susanna Bromley, of whom, a daughter Elizabeth is reputed to have eloped and married a William North. She was widowed died shortly after the birth in 1848 of their son, Alfred Thomas North. She became a schoolmistress and later a nurse and is said to have been associated with Florence Nightingale either in the Crimean War or the School for Nurses.
