Re: Samuel Mylchreest
In Response To: Re: Samuel Mylchreest ()

There were two Samuel McYlchreests having children christened in Kk German around the same time. I have details on only one. There is a problem sorting out which children belong to which Samuel McYlchreest.

One Samuel McYlchreest married Catherine Killey circa 1709 German. She was buried 1737 German and left no will. Her husband Samuel McYlchreest died 1727 and left a will. Unfortunately he did not name all of his children. He bequeathed his property (acquired through his wife) to his eldest daughter Ann of which there is no record in the parish register. He also mentioned a daughter Mabel who was to inherit the property if Ann died and if Mabel died it was to pass on from child to child. (So at least two more children in the family.
Two children are recorded with parents Samuel Mylchreest and Mary or Margaret Kelly i.e. Gibert chr. 1740 and John chr. chr. 1736 d 1740. Other children likely born to this couple 1.e. after the death of the first Samuel McYlchreest in 1727 would be Henry chr. 1729, and an unidentified child chr. 1731.

Mary Mylchreest als kelly was buried 1771 and may have left a will probated in 1772-2 which is listed on Brian Lawson's site. Hopefully she would have mentioned all her surviving children. If you check out this will, I would like to hear the results.

If you Google Rootsweb Worldconnect, enter Killey and click on the second submission (mack1004) you can further details on Catherine Killey's parents. There are numerous researchers who are descendants of Phillip Killey of Eary Voar (Catherine Killey's brother) Remember that German parish christening records are missing between 1680-1695 are missing and any birth records recorded are estimates only (whether indicated or not) and subject to revision.
