I think parents of John Gelling were Robert GELLING & Margaret STEVENSON (or STEEN a common Manx usage ) - it is possible his first wife was Margaret KEWLEY abt 1790

Also of his children: Robert died 15th Jul 1825 aged 2 years; Robert died 6th March 1831 aged 5 years; Jane died 27th April 1840 aged 4 years; Robert died 13th July aged 6 years; Edward died 6th May 1845 aged 18 years; John died in Melbourne, Australia 21st June 1880 aged 47 years. Also of Elizabeth wife of the above-named Robert Gelling who died 30th November 1881 aged 84 years.
