My sister and I are Cains and we are coming to the IOM in April /May 2006 and hoping to find someone who is a descendant from some of our anscestors. My great great grandfather had 13 children from 2 marriages and I am hoping that there must be a descandant of one of them still in the IOM who has traced the family history- I am particularly looking for descendants of James Cain (b1809/d1880) married in Braddon (1st marriage) 29.11.1830 to Judith Radcliffe b 1811/d1849. After Judith died in 1849 James Cain had son Thomas Edward b 1852 (My gg who emigrated to New Zealand) with Elizabeth Leece b 1817.
She was the widow of John Radcliffe who also died in 1849.

James and Elizabeth James and Elzaeth married in 1857 had three more children

Edward b 1857who died aged 3,
His twin Joseph who died age 21
Phillip who died as an infant.

Elizabeth also had three children from her first marriage to John Radcliffe:-
