On the death Certificate of my GG grandmother from IoM (born C 1823) it is stated that her father was James LYNCH(E)Y an “Army Officer”.
A dissenter Baptism on IoM of a Sarah LYNCHY (1826) refers to Michael LYNCHY and Sarah nee MULLEN.
Perhaps he had both Christian names.
Sarah nee MULLEN was sentenced in 1833 to be transported to New South Wales and the indent stated that she was a widow and had brought 3 children with her.
Where may I find details of army officers who were stationed on the IoM say between 1820 and 1833 and possible info on his death (Catholic).
Cheers
Peter
