I have a relation, a convict son of my GGG grandmother, Thomas LYNCHEY, sentenced at Castle Rushen and transported to New South Wales.
On the convict indent under "Remarks" there are described several tattooed intials "TL" and also "CLAIJL" along with the usual tattoo images etc.
I suppose that "TL" are simply his initials, however "CLAIJL" is a mystery, perhaps some family connection or may be some gang or group on the IoM or fellow convicts.
Anyone have a suggestion?
Cheers
