John was baptised in Arbory in 1871. He moved to Liverpool in the 1870's-probably following the death of his father in 1873. He lived in Liverpool with his maternal uncle Thomas Clugston and wife Catherine (Beaver).
In 1896 he married Mary Ellen Meredith in Liverpool. The only child I know right now is Thomas born in 1898 in Liverpool.
Add: once John moved to Liverpool his surname became Cubbin.
