The Bridge Inn was at No 9 in 1881 (beware of house numbers as they changed over the years !) - from 1881 census the next 10 or so dwellings appear to be family houses (or cottages) - in 1863 John Mainwairing ran a lodging house at 15 North Quay (possibly same house - see warning note) however in 1883 directory Brown Cornelius, apartments, 15 North quay so looks like an apartment/lodging house - in 1881 directory Brown, Cornelius, storekeeper, also lodging-house, (in 1848 same address was also a lodging house - J Kermode)
in 1887+ 1889 Mrs Jane Henry was a Milliner, &c at that address (in 1861 also Milliners run by M A Kermode)
I suspect any photo of Bridge Inn looking up Quay will show the building - there is a photo on my CD ROM that shows these houses to be 3 storey buildings
