With the help of several kind manx people I have got some way with my LYNCHEY etc forebears.
IoM records state that on 11th Nov. 1833 "MARY" LYNCHEY and her son Thomas were found guilty of Grand Larceny and sentenced to transportatio (to OZZ).
Thomas went to Tasmania and I have found this arrival.
"MARY" with 1 son and 2 daughters went to Sydney on the MaryIII however the convict indent on her arrival, and all the documents that I have found as she moved through the convict system to freedom and finally her death all refer to her as "SARAH"
There is also a record of a RC baptism on the IoM 22 Jul 1826 of a Sarah Lynchy daughter of Michael Lynchey and Sarah, nee Mullen, Lynchey.
Can anyone help me solve this mystery and also the names of the children, one of whom I hope was my GG grandmother Mary Ann Lynchey.
