If he died between 1901 and 1912 on the Island then there should be a death certificate available.

The index is available at the Registrar's office. However don't be put off if you can't find him there.

I have no experience of the death registry but I recently had an enquiry about a birth which the Registrar could not find even though it was listed in my births index. The LDS film had the full details which I was able to supply to the enquirer.
