I am trying to trace the origins of William Skillicorn, a common name I know. According to the 1881 Census William was born in 1850 in Bristol. I'm told there ii s no trace of him or similarly named people on the 1851 Bristol Census. William married in Liverpool in 1870, Catherine Sheehan. The couple had two sons, Thomas and John. I know that the family had strong connections with the Island and wondered if anybody who has researched Skillicorn families had come across William. A shot in the dark; but you never know.
