An ancestor of mine, William McMain (or alternatively spelled McMahon) is listed as being born in the Isle of Man in the 1871, 1881, 1891 & 1901 English Census. However there is some discrepancy over when exactly he was born (1855 ish give or take a few years) I remember reading somewhere (subsequently having lost the reference) that he might have been born in Douglas - is there some place where I can go to search for this information (or some organization which might have the information?)
