I am trying to trace any details and possible descendants of Hugh Atkinson RAILTON who is listed as a photographer's assistant in 1891 & 1901 censuses. In both cases he is a boarder/lodger with a Catherine LEWIS at 26 Strand St, Maughold.
There appears to be a record of him marrying in 1905 in the Presbyterian registers for Ramsey to a Mary Alice BROWN. He would then have been aged about 44, so its quite possible the couple did not have children.
My interest in him lies in that he was willed the diary of his uncle, my gt. grandfather, Reginald William ATKINSON the founder of the Teesdale Mercury in Barnard Castle, DUR, which, if by some chance, still existed, would be of very great interest.
Any information on this person, or indeed if he died on Man and left a will, wuold be most gratefully received.
if anyone has AINSLEY 9vsrious spellings) ancestors, I would also like them to get in touch - i run the AINSLEY one name study and am forever on the lookout for more contacts.
