Re: Help with RODGERS/KILLEY (GILL)

Hello Sue

Many thanks for this information which I appreciate very much. It will help me enormously. It is good to know that you too have seen the names GILL and KILLEY used interchangeably in Maughold, otherwise you can never be quite sure that you are researching the right family.

I do not think that you would find any burials in the Maughold records. Jane and Patrick emigrated to Cumberland between 1867 and 1870, while Patrick's father Edward would have been in Ireland. Jane was born in Jurby so it may be that her father John KILLEY was buried there rather than Maughold. Thanks, nonetheless, for your kind offer.

Information on Jane and Patrick's children would be very useful. If anyone does have access to post-1849 baptisms and Ramsey records I am still looking for the register transcripts for:

James Alfred RODGERS, baptised 18.02.1866 in Ramsey
William Edward RODGERS, baptised 15.03.1867 in Ramsey

If anyone thinks that Jane KILLEY or Patrick RODGERS may be in their tree, I have detailed records from 1870 to the present day and would be happy to pass these on.

Many thanks again, Sue, you really have been a great help.

Patrick
