have a look at www.manxnotebook.com/famhist/genealgy/refs.htm
the page has link to General Reg site for ordering certs etc - they still require it seems payment in sterling (about £6/cert but cost of getting sterling can raise this though some 6 years ago I was told they were going to take credit cards)
however there was no effective (ie compulsory) civil registration in the Island until 1877/8 thus no death certificates before this period - look at burial records (index on www.lawsons.ca - full entry in relevant IoMFHS publication - MI's are also indexed by IoMFHS).
For births/marriages pre 1877 you merely get a certified copy of the entry in the 1911 transcript of the parish registers - you can find all this info on mormon microfilms.
The registry office will search for you if you don't know the year but at great cost ! ie do it yourself.
Re pics - check if there is a MI and in which yard - see www.manxnotebook.com/gazateer/gyards/cems.htm - then post request eg I have a collection of such photos and can often supply others, however many stones are by now somewhat eroded - this is particularly true of late victorian stone/marble which is nowhere near as resilient as the earlier 18th C manx slate
